This weekend I made a shocking discovery – found 3 grey hair strands. Now I am convinced I have more, not yet visible. We often hear statements like “aging gracefully” or “with age comes wisdom”, which should make us happy. To be honest I am scared of getting old. I am horrified about the thought, being categorizes as OLD.

My immediate reaction after noticing grey hair was to check my skin condition. If it’s already saggy at places. Within minutes my browser history was filled with, how to stop aging articles and YouTube videos. I don’t know how you guys are dealing with this situation. For me this has been one of the most depressing weekends.

How come our childhood movie stars are not aging? Even though I don’t understand much Hindi, I love watching Bollywood movies as well as Hollywood movies. Madhuri  Dixit , Kajol and Aishwarya Rai, Jennifer Aniston and  Drew Barrymore,  are my favorites. Once I looked up to them and tried to follow their fashion. Now I feel like their aging clock run out of battery and spared them from aging process. Even though I am much younger than them, I look much older than them now L.

Why is it so difficult for me to accept the fact, that it’s a natural process? What is the reason for my panic attacks?  My mom is in her mid-sixties and she started complaining about saggy skin just few months ago. Until then she was not even aware of it. Oh well, I could say she aged gracefully. She is still gorgeous.

There are so many anti-aging products out there. I know these products are not going to stop the aging process – merely conceal reality!

Did you know an increasing proportion of the  world consists of  elderly people? People live longer  and longer.  Is it so bad if I say I want to live only until 50?

Last wedding of the season

Couple of days ago, I went to Frankfurt to attend last wedding of this season. Since I didn’t know the couple for a long time, I wasn’t sure about attending the wedding. Now looking back, I have to admit that it was the best wedding I recently been to. We often say a simple wedding is all about the couple and family getting married. It was a unique wedding, because the bride and groom have the same first name. Few years back the bride saw his profile on a social media platform and decided to leave a message. She never thought her curiosity will end up in a marriage.

Bride chose to have simple makeup and hair. She looked absolutely ravishing in her gown. I never saw such a calm, absolutely happy, stress free bride in my life. She was very charismatic and charmed the guests with her mesmerizing smile. Her wedding gown was breath taking, innovating and unique; I loved that dress. The Groom looked handsome in his grey wedding suit. They both complimented each other very well.

It was a simple wedding, which was well organized and you could see the detail in planning everywhere. As with modern trends at wedding receptions, they had “seating chart” – a list informing guests where they are to be seated. Instead of having a generic list, this was printed on a world map, located at the entrance to the reception. They only chose map locations – where they visited together as a couple. Photos from these locations, for example Frankfurt where I was seated – were displayed on the tables. This gave us guests something to talk about the couple, very engaging idea!

Next eye catcher was the Menu card. It was printed on a writable candle wrapper. The food was delicious and mouthwatering. But hey, the highlight was the wedding cake which they cut together around midnight. Again it wasn’t some randomly manufactured cake. No it was baked by one of her dear friend and trust me guys it was beautylicious. The moist cake melted in my mouth, sticky with white chocolate and fudge frosting on my tongue. The bitter and simultaneously sweet smell of it puts me in a serene mind state. I smacked my full red lips together. With the rich deep shades of yellow on every delicious layer this cake acts as a slice of happiness on a white dessert plate. I almost had a food gasmen.

Another memorable part was the Bollywood dance presented by friends and family. The theme of this dance was the story of the wedded couple. They selected different hit songs from different movies and created their own mix. The dance was fantastic, they set the floor on fire. At the end everyone was dancing.

How could I end the this blog without mentioning the stunning guest favors. For each guest they prepared a small jar of homemade jam. To be honest it felt like a small jar of happiness and joy.

I had such an incredible time!

The Metabolic Typing Test

For the past two and half years according to my food log I was eating healthy. Almost no carbs, a lot of healthy protein, drank almost 2 liters of green tea every day; Basically I was following a low carb high protein diet. And Yes, occasionally I had my devious meals like yummy burgers, Chicken biriyani, Pasta etc. Even though I was eating “healthy”, I was not losing weight. You know how frustrating it is, right?

I really don’t remember who told me about it, but somehow I got to know about the Metabolic Typing Diet. Listen guys, did you know that each of us are so unique that certain foods react on each of us differently?Oh well, I didn’t.I was shocked about my Metabolic Typing test result because my body needs carbs. I felt like hit by a truck. My ideal meal should consist of 50% carbs, 40% protein and 10% fat. I shouldn’t consume dairy products, red meat,theanine and caffeine at all. I know what you are thinking right now or I can imagine your face expression. All the GREEN TEA I had was for nothing .

Based on my experience, I would suggest anyone who wants to lose weight or improve their lifestyle to do the Metabolic Typing Test. There are so many different diets out there, and we spent so much money on them without even knowing if it’s the right diet. Apart from being lazy one of the many mistakes I made was to go with the flow. I assumed all the so called “healthy” foods, which I know through hearsay, were going to do the magic on me. The fact is, it is wrong to think about nutrition that one diet is right for everyone.
Each one of us has a unique Metabolic Type. Eating the right foods in the right amount will make us feel great and improve our metabolism. Metabolic Typing Diet will help to achieve and maintain ideal weight, conquer indigestion and ultimately improve one’s lifestyle.
The first step towards weight loss is to know your body and to give the right fuel to it. In other words, the first item on your checklist should be Metabolic Typing Test  . If you don’t match your nutrition to your metabolism, how are you going to lose weight? Oh well, all this sounds nice and I started to follow the plan. It was really nice and I could see the first signs of success but you know what happened. Remember 5 steps ahead and 10 backwards. Once again I am back on track.

Day 4 – Keep Calm and Stay Healthy

Once I gain experience in blogging and improve English writing skills, I will certainly blog about fashion, travel experience, violence against women, restaurant reviews and random thoughts.

For today’s assignment though the first thought that came to mind was Healthy Weight loss. For more than 2 years I am trying to get back in shape. By now I am an expert in Do’s and Don’ts of weight loss. As we all know talking about something and giving advice is very easy, but to convert theory into action is very difficult. Yes, I am guilty of preaching water and drinking wine.  It’s not like I haven’t made any progress, indeed there are some visible changes. One of the biggest problems I am facing is staying focused and motivated. It’s like 5 steps forward and 10 steps in wrong direction.

There are so many diet programs out there, from starving yourself to 24hr of diarrhea. Somehow I am not a great fan of diets. The little Smurf inside my head is telling me, it’s the wrong direction to go. I guess everyone needs to find their own path.

Along with healthy eating habits and regular exercise, I wanted to achieve my goal. I love Pilates and EMS training. I don’t want to brag, but I have the BEST trainers in town. These young, vibrant ladies are just awesome (Oh well, I will blog about them another time). Unfortunately I decided to take a break.  Remember 5 steps ahead and 10 backwards.

2 things I love the most are bags and sunglasses. So I said to myself, if I manage to have a healthy life style and reach my target weight, I will present myself a Louis Vuitton and a trip to New York or Dubai on my Birthday (btw. It’s on 30th Nov).

Falling back and losing motivation, are very common problems, and I am sure there are other people fighting the same issues. I want to address this blog to them, come and join me on my journey to a better and healthier life style.
